Mel’s infectious spirit was second to none. She laughed out loud and loved hard.

As a woman, a mother, a sister and a friend, she was a great person to have in your corner. To that end, she was a tireless supporter of women in business and truly believed in empowering women to manage their lives and their finances with grace and independence.

In memoriam, Mel’s friends and family created The Mel Miller Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, that seeks to honor her legacy through the creation of a professional sisterhood that supports and empowers women in business.

The Mel Miller Foundation provides women in business the opportunity to develop meaningful friendships, chase big dreams, and realize their full potential by offering scholarships, mentorship, and professional connections.

We’re proud to announce:

Spitfire Academy is a comprehensive program designed to help a newer female small business owner grow, learn, expand and improve her business. In addition to providing access to online training materials, those chosen to be mentees through Spitfire Academy will be assigned a mentor (a successful local business owner) to act as her guide.
The mentors are a ‘who’s who’ of local business women who are highly-skilled and recognize the importance of giving back to their community.
